Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works on TV and in films is best known for films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had secured a number of TV roles including the lead role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. In the Oscar-nominated film Downfall, her role as the Secretary Traudljunge of Adolf Hitler was also critically acclaimed. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's professional career has included participate in several significant national and international productions. These include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historic miniseries Napoleon and many more. In addition, she is juror at both the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
